Mayank wanted to get into Real Estate since the start because he has seen his father in the same business.

Any advice to students considering joining RICS SBE?

What is the most expensive product that you can sell? A house. What is the biggest dream someone has? To buy a house. What is the cost time taking the product to be built? A HOME. I guess for the people who want to be in this ever-expanding industry where nothing comes down and gives you everything from a great lively hood to an ever-expanding horizon, RICS is the place to begin your careers with. Take my advice, if your basics are clear with Real Estate, this the most interesting industry in the world. It is connected to everything. Financials, accounts, expansive marketing and operations. It will never bore you. Your interest keeps on expanding.

How did the MBA program at RICS SBE help you?

When I joined my first company, I exactly knew how to operate, what to do, how to go about things which most of the freshers don't. It gave me an upper hand above the rest. I was not learning in my company, rather I was implementing what I already knew.

How was life at RICS SBE? (Campus, faculty, activities, events)

One of the best faculties I should say The comfort that a student requires to share the work experience, to share what problems we face while studying and the actual real-life inputs we get from them were great. It helped me personally to grow as an individual. Imagine knowing the tricks and tips of the trade before even starting with your job/business. I was made well aware of the surroundings, the problems that I might face in this industry and the real-life solutions provided by the faculty. Best part was the on-site training sessions. It helps to garner in-depth knowledge of a project.

Share experiences from work life.

Starting with Raheja Developers, I got an upper edge of working directly with the CMD of the company. It was an amazing experience working there because I knew things which a normal fresher or genera BBA grad won't have known. There on I went to Join Godrej Properties and having an in-depth knowledge of Real Estate and construction, I was able to convince clients and in return, I was awarded the best performer at the site

What was your experience while studying at RICS SBE?

I guess no one can teach you real estate so deeply, in detail like RICS does. Work experience is one thing but have theoretical knowledge before and then implementation of the same in your work adds a lot of value and bigger perspective in this field.

What were you doing before coming to RICS SBE?

Just passed out of school, trying to explore career options in Interior Design, construction etc. But I guess RICS gave me a wholesome experience of real estate as an Industry and got me into the mainstream of this industry

Raheja Developers Ltd.

Where did you intern? How did the internship help you?

I interned with 3 companies. Knight Frank being the first one, I did corporate sales. It gave me a knowledge of how to directly approach a segment. I also did property valuation in there. Second was with Finlace, which gave a wholesome client experience in Noida Extension. Last one was the Colliers International, where we were selling projects in Gurgaon(Dwarka Expressway). I guess being from RICS the corporates also understand that we'll be able to perform. This education boosted up a lot of confidence in me.
