Jatin Girotra BBA REUI 2013-16 Transactions at Jones Lang LaSalle
Jatin Girotra from the BBA Real Estate & Urban Infrastructure (REUI) batch of 2016 interned with JLL and also got placed with them after his graduation. In his own words he tells all about his journey from a student to a professional. Hello everyone. My name is Jatin Girotra. I have done my schooling from Amity International School, Noida and I have done my BBA in Real Estate and Urban Infrastructure from RICS SBE, Amity University. At present, I am working at JLL India, in the transactions department. My childhood dreams I come from a family that is in the real estate business. As a child I had a dream of taking my father's business to a new height. So I was looking for a course which could fulfill my dreams. I went for a counseling session in Amity University; there I came to know about this unique institution and this specialized BBA. Why I chose a BBA in REUI? I did my BBA in real estate as I knew that I have to set my career in this field and grow my father’s business. This sector has become very organized and you need to really know it in and out if you want to excel in this field. It is for this reason that I chose RICS over other institutes because RICS SBE is an industry led institution which could help me achieve my childhood dreams. My experience at RICS SBE My experience in this unique institution has been mesmerizing. Most of us think that there is not much need of studying in real estate, but trust me, real estate is huge and as the world is getting professional, you need in-depth knowledge of this sector to have an edge over others. At this institution, the faculty, the course structure, the site visits as well as the internships are designed in a manner to boost the right skills and knowledge that you need to make it big in this booming sector. My Internship and placement RICS SBE really helped me in grabbing this opportunity. Without this institution I could not have thought of cracking such a rigorous interview. One cannot crack the interview without in-depth knowledge in this sector; you really need to understand the market, terminologies, Government policies etc. JLL is one of the best companies in this industry and I consider myself very fortunate that I got to intern here. While interning I realized that such organisations are looking for professionals in this sector, who could increase their business standards and profitability. In fact one of my seniors who has 9 years of experience in this industry, wants to apply for MRICS. On graduating I got placed with JLL and now I am very happy working in transactions. No other BBA from any of the institutions could have provided me with such a great opportunity.
