Researcher with experience of 7 years in academics in India and Australia. His doctoral research titled "Influence of power’ and 'Dependence’ attributes on the main contractor and subcontractor collaboration in construction projects investigates the dyadic contractual relationships and proposes an analytical decision-making framework for enhanced collaboration. His current research focuses on integrating the traditional tool with construction 4.0 technologies (e.g., blockchain) and the challenges faced by women in the construction Industry

With over seven years of experience in teaching construction management, Dr Shumank started working as an Assistant Professor at Integral University, Lucknow in 2014. At Integral University, he lead the team that created a Master degree program in construction management. As a research assistant he worked on the following projects:  
 

  • Psychological Contracts in Construction Projects
  • Understanding the opportunities and challenges of compliance to safe building codes for disaster resilience in South Asia - the cases of Bangladesh and Nepal

Also, as a sessional academician he worked as:

  • Program Coordinator and lecturer for Master of Property Course
  • Tutor and marker for various subjects e.g., research methods, construction technology

 

Research Interests:

His research primarily focuses on procurement, women in construction, blockchain-based project management, FinTech, climate change and worker’s productivity, contractor’s efficiency and sociology of the built environment. He presently has 141 citations and an H-index of 7 on google scholar and 50 citations and an H-index of 5 on Scopus. Some of his recent publications are:
