Prof. Dr. Mona N. Shah FRICS has a professional experience spanning over three decades, initially in the services and manufacturing industry, gaining proficiency in launching new initiatives in the functional areas of strategy and operations. Since year 2000, she turned to academics and the sunrise Indian sectors viz. real estate, construction, projects and smart infrastructure, synthesising the priorities of academics, research and industry. Before joining as Dean, SBE at NOIDA, Delhi, she has served at the National Institute of Construction Management and Research (NICMAR) Pune, as Dean of School of Projects, Real Estate and Infrastructure Management. She has been instrumental in designing and launching two pioneering post graduate level programmes the Post Graduate Programme in Real Estate and Urban Infrastructure Management (PGP REUIM) and Post Graduate Programme in Contemporary Smart Cities Development and Management (PGP CSCDM). Prior to that in year 2000 as Dean Academics, with India Institute of Real Estate®, she pioneered India’s very first real estate certification programme “Principles and Practices of Real Estate” (PPRE) for practising real estate service providers, recognised by USA’s National Association of Realtors®.
Her teaching and research interests include Strategy, Leadership, and Sustainability. Her keen interest in applied research has translated into government and corporate assignments in competency mapping, feasibility studies, affordable housing, and smart cities solutions since 2003. In addition, she has published 46 research articles & cases in reputed journals worldwide, 35 conference contributions and supervised 95 master level theses.
Apart from teaching and performing administrative duties, she is currently a member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Project Management in Research and Practice (UTepress, Sydney, Australia) and in the past, has been the Editor of the NICMAR Journal of Construction Management (NJCM). Prof. Shah actively serves on several committees. She engages in executive training programmes with government departments and blue chip corporates in the construction sector. She is an invited speaker and reviewer for international and national level journals.
