RICS SBE Mumbai campus had organized an Online Guest Lecture for the students of MBA CPM today, 17th April’2020. The topic of the session was “Modern Construction Technology : Tunnel Formwork” by Mr. Jignasu Mehta, the Chief Executive Officer of Outinord Formworks Pvt Ltd., India The discussion started with talks on how the tunnel formworks emerged in the global markets, different types of formwork systems and the entry of tunnel formwork in India. Later, topics such as the 24-hr cycle of construction using Tunnel formwork was explained which emphasized on the faster construction methodology. Some of the highlights of this formwork is that it could be used up to 1000 cycles and the size was adjustable as per the requirements, cost effective nature, modular design, less manpower required, high quality of construction and smooth surface finishes. A pre-recorded video was used to demonstrate the designing, installation and casting of the structure with this technology. Finally, the benefits of using this technology in perspective of developers, contractors, design teams and tenants were discussed. The discussion was concluded with the question-answer session by students and a vote of thanks.
