A native of Madurai in Tamil Nadu, I grew up in Chennai where I did my schooling. I was pretty much amused by the built environment around me and was determined to learn how it was done. It made me choose my under-graduation in Civil Engineering from SASTRA University in Tanjore, Tamil Nadu. I hated coding and the electrical stuff since childhood, so civil was the best option ahead (sic).
Any advice to students considering joining RICS SBE? If gaining knowledge and being happy in the long run are your goals, go for RICS SBE How did the MBA program at RICS SBE help you? The program at RICS SBE has helped to shape up and organise what I had learnt in my 3 years of experience. It has taught me to manage things in a better way (we have been managing hectic assignments in the last 2 years and never missed a submission!). I have learnt many more life lessons as a student, as a friend & as a peer all in just 2 years! How was life at RICS SBE? (Campus, faculty, activities, events) RICS SBE offers you something of everything. Right from co-curricular activities like debating, extra-curriculars like outdoor sports, cultural mela there was something for everyone. I bet every classmate of mine would have participated in at least one of the many events that happened. Share experiences from work life. I am graduating in 2020. This year. My joining is only in July. What was your experience while studying at RICS SBE? It has been a truly phenomenal journey throughout. Right from exploring the north (my first time alone this far away from home), to get a new circle of friends without any boundaries like caste, colour or creed, experienced professors who are ever ready to help you out, the campus with all the modern amenities (the only campus with a gaming arena probably), in between classes opposite gate no. 2, life at RICS SBE has arguably given me the best 2 years of my life. What were you doing before coming to RICS SBE? I graduated in 2015. I had got dual placements in my UG. One was with Latent View as a Data Scientist and the other was with L&T Construction. I joined L&T and worked with them in their WET IC at Hyderabad for 3 years before joining SBE. Where did you get placed? I got placed at KPMG. Where did you intern? How did the internship help you? I interned at Shapoorji & Pallonji E&C at their Mumbai Head office. The internship hugely helped me as I worked under some of the best minds of SP E&C who guided me throughout my 2 months there. I am forever indebted to them to let me have a glance of how the top management functions in a company. Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years? I see myself clearing the MRICS, with adequate knowledge in Risk management portfolio. I also look forward to studying dispute resolution techniques especially Arbitration.
