Ministry of Urban Development supports establishment of RICS SBE, Amity University

As the country grapples with housing shortage and lack of suitable infrastructure to sustain quality housing, the impending skills shortage continues to plague built environment sector. Recognising the need for educational institutions dedicated to imparting real estate and construction specific education, Honourable Minister, Shri Kamal Nath, Ministry of Urban Development has supported the establishment of the School.

The government’s priority in the current five year plan (2012-17) is on education and skill development and one of RICS' key missions in India has been to aid the process of capacity building and skills development in built environment by providing world-class education and training. Therefore, given the heritage of RICS as the world’s leading qualification and its role as a policy influencer, the ministry recognizes the establishment of the School as an important initiative towards capacity building.
