An academic review panel, overseen by independent auditors, has scrutinized provision of education at RICS School of Built Environment, Amity University resulting in accreditation for two degrees at master’s level and one at bachelor’s level. The accreditation panel judged the standards at the School as outstanding.

A panel appointed by the Membership Working Group of RICS visited the Noida Campus of Amity University on 16 and 17 January 2014. Its purpose was to consider whether specified degrees of the University could properly be accredited for delivery by RICS School of Built Environment (RICS SBE). 11.jpg

The panel of five included four members who had no previous or direct involvement with the establishment of the School. All five had wide knowledge of the standards required for reliable professional development at both undergraduate and post graduate level. They gave the most careful and independent consideration to all aspects of the proposed provision from the School, both individually and collectively. The process was monitored by impartial auditors.

The three degrees accredited by RICS include:

  • BBA in Real Estate and Urban Infrastructure

  • MBA in Real Estate and Urban Infrastructure

  • MBA in Construction Project Management

Among other aspects of evaluation, a traditional, audit-based approach was followed to assess programs based on five quality principles:

  • Student selection

  • Research and innovation

  • Teaching quality

  • Curriculum

  • Graduate output

The accreditation process relied on experienced academics and employers, assessing each relevant university program to ensure there was both an appropriate curriculum and the resources in place to enable the delivery of the program to meet the high standards demanded by the RICS.

Students who pass out of RICS accredited courses, will supplement that with professional experience working with real estate and construction firms, and eventually work towards the RICS chartered qualification (MRICS).
