13 Real Estate students from MBA and BBA programs are travelling to University of San Diego to take part in the 5-week International Certificate program in Real Estate Investment and Management. It is another milestone in our initiative to provide international exposure to our students.

Batch of 13 students from SBE is traveling to University of San Diego from 5 June to 6 July 2017. These selected students from MBA and BBA in Real Estate Urban Infrastructure will join students from other universities to participate in the International Certificate program at University of San Diego. They are being hosted by the Ahlers Centre for International Business and the Burnham-Moores Center for Real Estate for an International Certificate program in Real Estate Investment and Management. The objective of this certificate program is to provide invaluable international insights to our students into the built environment: best practices and curriculum as it exists in the most developed and most evolved real estate market of the world.

The International Certificate in Real Estate Investment offers three courses taught by world-class faculty. Courses are:

  • RE Finance & Investment
  • RE Market Analysis
  • RE Asset & Property Mgmt.

This five-week program will be equivalent to an internship with students getting credits for the same. Students will have the opportunity to visit real estate projects and hear industry renowned guest speakers from companies like CBRE, Cushman & Wakefield, Costar, Westfield, Kilroy Realty Corporation, Meyers Research, Pacifica, Qualcomm, AMP, Kyocera and Newland Communities. This real life knowledge will integrate both practical techniques and academic research for the benefit of all. Classes will be held from Mondays through Thursdays, with Fridays being reserved for guest lectures and site visits.  Site visits could cover topics regarding:

  • Projects focusing on Sustainability in Real Estate
  • Large Residential, mixed-use and shopping developments
  • Senior Housing Communities
  • Bio-Tech Office Parks

There will an individual assessment done at the end of the program followed by a Certificate & Transcript after passing the assessment.

Our students are really looking forward to the trip. They have undergone a week long training program at the school to help them prepare for the visit. In the training program, the students were told about the type of real estate markets that exist all around the world, how markets are different not only at a global but also at a local level like the real estate market in Delhi differs from the one in Mumbai.

The training program also covered key aspects of Facilities Management and students were taken to see chiller plants, DG sets and construction sites.
