Student membership is available to all the students being admitted to RICS SBE, Amity University. This membership provides a dedicated range of knowledge and information services to help students with their course work, including guides on a range of key topics and concepts.
RICS student
RICS student status is free for those on their way to a professional career in surveying within land, real estate, construction and infrastructure. This includes full and part-time students, as well as apprentices.
Being an RICS student is free and can help you realise your potential by working to the highest standards of education at college or university.

Grow your network – you are a part of RICS Matrics
You automatically become a member of RICS Matrics as part of your RICS Student status. It not only provides an excellent network of local, regional and nationwide contacts but provides a good source of advice as well as being good fun – with regular social events and networking opportunities.
RICS Students are encouraged to become involved locally and can benefit from mentoring schemes, access to literature and market intelligence. Career advice and APC mentoring support is provided in a social environment as well as more formally as part of the university visits and forums. Placements and business opportunities are often offered as part of the RICS Matrics network.

Gaining an RICS accredited degree will put you ahead of the competition.
Once you are working in the field of surveying you can enrol on our Assessment of Professional Competency (APC) and start your journey to becoming a Chartered Surveyor.

Work Placements
You can start your journey to an RICS qualification whilst undertaking a work placement.
Become a RICS Student and then follow the steps below :
- Choose a sector pathway suitable to your planned placement experience
- Email our enrolments team to advise us that you are starting to record your experience
- Obtain guidance/support from employer and counsellor (a professional member MRICS or FRICS). If your employer/counsellor requires additional support they can contact an RICS Mentor (candidate support page link)
- Obtain sign off of the competencies achieved, by a professional member (as per counsellor role), in order to be able to use this experience towards the minimum of 400 days/2 years APC requirement
- Email our enrolments team a letter to from your counsellor confirming when your work placement started and finished and that you were working towards APC requirements
- Following graduation, and when employed, you'll be able to enrol onto APC to become a Chartered member
- After a minimum of 1 year of structured training, post-graduation of an RICS accredited degree and after recording a minimum 23 months APC, your counsellor will decide when you are ready to apply for the APC final assessment
