Launch of Incubator for Entrepreneurship in Built Environment

9th October 2018 was an important day when RICS School of Built Environment began a new chapter to encourage, motivate and assist the students to realize their big entrepreneurial dreams. An incubator is a need of today’s start-up culture and we called it BUILT-TANK, an initiative to let the budding entrepreneurs to Think, Aim, Network and Kickstart their ventures and bring value to the Built Environment Sector.

The launch ceremony was attended by a large group of students. The students got the chance to interact with young SBE-Alumnus entrepreneurs who decided to create an impact in Built Environment sector. Some of the recent start-ups founded by RICS SBE alumnus and discussed during the event were Sneffels Realty, by Rahul Chaudhary; PropTron by Vishu Kushwaha; Baywash by Sachin Sangwan and My Forestree co-founded by Vinay Chaudhury, Nahin and team. The Chief Guest: Mr. Mridul Upreti (Founder – YSTART) enlightened the students with his entrepreneurial acumen. Other dignitaries on the dias: Mr. Nimish Gupta FRICS, Managing Director, RICS South Asia; Mr. Ashwani Awasthi, Chief Operating Officer, RICS School of Built Environment; Er. A. K. Shrivastava, HOI, RICS SBE; Dr. Mona N. Shah, Dean, RICS SBE, Noida; Prof. Joseph Thanikal MRICS, Associate Dean and Director, School of Construction, RICS SBE, Noida and Prof. Anupam Saxena MRICS, Associate Dean and Director, School of Real Estate, RICS SBE, Noida motivated the students with their powerful presence and ensured their support to take this initiative forward.

Prof. Shipra Goel, Associate Professor, Strategy and Entrepreneurship spoke about how the formation of the BUILT-TANK will support young entrepreneurs in building solid foundation for their ventures by providing them access to office space, mentoring support and networking opportunities. Rubiks, a start-up led by current batch students, adding new dimensions to facilities management domain by creating value in quality, delivery and time, would be the first company to be incubated by RICS SBE BUILT-TANK.
