2018 marks the 150th anniversary of RICS, and we at RICS SBE have been brimming with excitement to celebrate it ever since the beginning of this year. This excitement of everyone at the School finally got a stage when we held gala celebrations at our Noida campus on 27-28 March.

A range of fun activities and contests were organized to mark the celebration of this special milestone, and everyone, right from faculty, students, and supporting staff, came together to extend their warm wishes to the brand whose rich legacy and backing gives us at the School the confidence to shape the future of our students.

Here is how we extended our heartfelt wishes:

PICTURE PERFECT WISH

The students, faculty and staff members – all came together to form the number ‘150’ on the School grounds, beating the scorching heat of mid noon with their excitement and warmth. Catch a glimpse of it in this short video.

EXPERIMENTAL TYPOGRAPHY CONTEST

As built environment professionals of tomorrow, the students used their creativity and learning at School, to craft congratulatory message for RICS using things that represent built environment.  It was a time-bound, thought-led contest, and the participants could use anything, right from building bricks, to bamboo sticks; telephone wires, to deflated tires; hard hats to cricket bats; cardboard skyscrapers to waste wrappers. The entries were judged basis the concept presentation delivered by the participants post completing their designs.

The team that got the first place in the contest consisted of Somya Agarwal (MBA CPM), Lohith Muthyala (MBA CPM), Giriraj (MBA CEQS). The second place was won by Shiva Chandra (MBA CPM), Mudunuru Kiran Varma (MBA CPM) and Pemmaraju Sai Brihadh (MBA CPM). SAY IT WITH A PLACARD

What could be a better way to wish a brand that has been working incessantly to instill confidence in the profession than by showcasing the pride one feels for the profession. And that’s exactly what the students of our Noida campus did. They spelled out their individual sentiments, in a collective way.

THE SELFIE BOOTH

For students, no celebration is complete without selfies that are instantly shared on social media. To facilitate the same, an instant selfie sharing kiosk was setup, which remained a big hit. The students had to stand in front of the machine with inbuilt camera – check the preview of the photo on the screen in front of them and capture the shot. The pictures were given out instantly in soft copy as well as hard copy. The students also had the option to share the photographs on social media.
