RICS School of Built Environment is delighted to share that Dr. Saurabh Verma, Assistant Professor, was invited by GRIHA Council to participate in their recent event, “Sustainability in Action: Bengaluru’s Urban Challenge” on 9th Jan 2026 at TERI Auditorium, TERI Southern Regional Centre, Bengaluru.

The event featured the launch of the book “Best Practices in Sustainable Built Environments: Case Studies from India and Australia,” published by Springer Nature. We are proud that Dr. Verma is one of the editors of this international volume alongside distinguished co-editors Jessica Siva, Josephine Vaughan and Priyanka Kochhar, Ph.D.

As part of the programme, Dr. Verma was invited to speak on Section 2 of the book, which represents inspiring case studies in Sustainable Built Environment in Australia and India. The case studies highlight the growing need for integrated approaches to climate responsive design, responsible construction, innovation and capacity building—areas where our School continues to lead meaningful contributions.
During the event, Dr. Verma had the opportunity to interact with members of the TERI and Bangalore Chamber of Industry and Commerce teams, discussing collaborative pathways to advance India’s net zero and Bengaluru’s climate resilience goals.

These interactions further strengthen our commitment to contributing to national and global sustainability agendas through research, teaching, and industry partnerships.

We congratulate Dr. Verma for representing the school and contributing to a dialogue that shapes the future of sustainable development in the built environment.
