RICS SBE’s MBA in Construction Project Management Program is accredited by Global Accreditation Center for Project Management Education Programs (GAC-PMI)

MBA Construction Project Management program is accredited by GAC-PMI, a global competent authority for assessing the quality of project management education. This is the first-ever program in India to be accredited by GAC-PMI. The program also bears accreditation by another global accreditation body Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, UK (RICS). There are no such programs offered in India by any other higher education institute, other than RICS School of Built Environment. Global accreditation by two authorities qualifies the competencies of the course delivered through the program, which is benchmarked against global standards. 

Benefits to Students Enrolled in GAC Accredited Programs:

• Students eligible to sit for a PMI credential exam may immediately apply the classroom hours from a completed project management course toward the contact hour requirement, rather than waiting until they graduate from the program. The student can be confident that these hours are pre-approved and will automatically be accepted toward fulfilling the contact hour requirement. Students who wish to claim contact hours should select “GAC Accredited Programs” as the education provider when completing the PMI credential application.

• GAC accredited programs are now able to issue Professional Development Units (PDUs) to students who complete any individual registered project management course within their accredited degree program. The PMI credential holder can be confident that these PDUs are pre-approved and will automatically be accepted toward fulfilling the PMI continuing certification requirement. Students should claim these PDUs under “Category A – Courses Offered by PMI’s Registered Education Programs (R.E.P.s), GAC Accredited Degree Programs, chapters and communities.”

The Global Accreditation Centre for Project Management Education Programs (GAC) is an independent academic accreditation body with policies, procedures, and standards for projects, programs, portfolio management and related programs at the bachelor’s, post-graduate and doctoral degree levels.

The mission of GAC is to advance excellence in education worldwide, while its primary objective is to ensure that GAC accredited programs prepare students to meet the current and anticipated needs of businesses and government organizations for qualified professionals working in the field.

Project Management Institute (PMI), the world's leading not-for-profit professional membership association for the project, program and portfolio management profession, has awarded scholarships to select students enrolled in the (RICS SBE) MBA in Construction Project Management program at the school. The scholarships were awarded basis merit, as measured through academic and extracurricular performance The growing number of independent project management degree programs made obvious the need for standardization of third-party measures of quality which gave rise to PMI GAC.
