Winning positions secured at inter-collegiate competitions, Contrabol and Pragyaan

Our students secured winning positions in inter-collegiate competitions, Pragyaan-the Inter-collegiate debate competition and Contrabol- the Inter-collegiate business quiz, held at the Noida campus. 

 
Contrabol, the flagship annual event organised by iDEATE, the debating society under SLING at RICS SBE, witnessed a fantastic participation from various institutions across Delhi NCR, including KIET – Ghaziabad and GGSIPU – New Delhi, besides Amity University. The format was 2 vs 2  modified asian parliamentary style, with 14 teams participating in the competition. 

The event was judged by Dr. Prachi Priyanka, Assistant Professor, Sharda University and Dr. Rakesh Mishra, DGM, IOCL. In an intensely contested final, Ms. Samridhi Talwar from GGSIPU won the best speaker award and Mr. Shourya Jain from GGSIPU won the second best speaker award. Mr. Bharath B from School of Real Estate and Ms. Torsha Datta Choudhuri from School of Construction won the best team award, in addition to Mr. Bharath B bagging the Best Rebutter award. The event was  moderated by Mr. Subhendu Datta, President, iDEATE and the core organising committee headed by Prof. Anindita Sarkar included Ms. Prashali Thakur, Mr. Damaninder Singh and Ms. Harshita Reddy. 


Pragyaan, the annual business quiz competition organised by SLING, also witnessed an enormous response with over 24 teams participating in the event. A written eliminator round was conducted to shortlist 6 teams to the finals. In an intense finale, teams were questioned on taglines, identifying famous personalities, guessing the brands and the most exciting rapid-fire round. The first prize was won by Mr. Bharath B and Mr. Deepak T S from School of Real Estate and the second prize was won by Mr. Swagat Bisoyi and Mr. Keertan Gohil from School of Construction. The event was presided by Mr. Varun Goel, Black Olive Ventures and Prof. Sunil Agarwal, Head, School of Real Estate.
 
Both the events were sponsored by Black Olive Ventures.
