B.Com Hons graduate
MBA REUI 2013-15
Placed at Cushman & Wakefield

Ashita was inclined towards commerce from the very beginning, so she did her B.Com Hons from Delhi University. In her summer break she interned with Colliers and this was her first introduction to the organized facet of the real estate industry. With a dream to make a career in the real estate industry she looked for a higher education in this field. Luckily she came across RICS SBE – which is an industry led institute. The backing of industry experts motivated her to take up an MBA in REUI at RICS SBE.

My journey at RICS SBE was an eye opener to the built environment industry. The scale of knowledge and experience I gained here is incomparable. Also during the placement process there was constant support from the faculty and mentorship team. Any last minute doubts were cleared promptly. I gave interview for KPMG, Knight Frank, Mahindra Lifespace Developers and Cushman & Wakefield. I got selected in two – Knight Frank and Cushman & Wakefield. Also, I don’t think I would’ve got the same opportunities and support, with regards to placements, which I got from RICS SBE.

There were two rounds of interview – one technical another personal interview. Initially I was a bit apprehensive as there was only two girls in the crowd of 20 students sitting for the interview. But I had the confidence in my acquired knowledge and skills developed during the internship. Also I think working in the leasing section of Hines India during internship helped me in the landing up with the job offer. My job profile involves leasing in the commercial agency of Cushman & Wakefield.

I believe if you are hardworking, confident and dedicated nothing can stop you from achieving success in this field. It is a male driven industry but women do get their chance to shine.
