Powering the Campus: Substation Site Visit at Amity University
Bridging theory with real-world infrastructure
As part of the Basics of Facilities Management course, BBA (Real Estate & Urban Infrastructure) Semester 4 students participated in a technical site visit to the Power Substation at Amity University, Noida on 21st January 2026.
Led by an Electrical Services expert, the session provided a structured walkthrough of critical electrical infrastructure, offering students first-hand exposure to:
- Power distribution systems and substation operations
- Electrical safety protocols and compliance standards
- Load management and energy efficiency practices
- Preventive and reactive maintenance strategies
- Role of substations in ensuring uninterrupted campus operations
The visit enabled students to understand the backbone of campus energy infrastructure, linking classroom concepts with real-time operations.
Such experiential learning strengthens their ability to manage large-scale real estate assets with a focus on reliability, safety, and operational efficiency.
